In The News: “Burger Bytes – Global Special Effects”

The Amazing Snowman

The Amazing Snowman

LEXINGTON, Ala. — Temperatures might be rising outside the Global Special Effects warehouse, but inside it’s a winter wonderland.

“Our claim to fame is our evaporative snow products,” president Francisco Guerra said. “We can make it look like it’s snowing, but it evaporates in seconds.”

The small business has been tucked away in the small town of Lexington for ten years.

“For the last 20 years [the company] has been providing all the theme parks in the world with special effects to create their illusionary snow for the rides,” Guerra said.

They also do snow for major motion pictures, while providing it for 23 countries. The “faux snow” is made of 99% evaporated water and one percent surfactant.

“It’s 100% non-toxic, non-allergenic, you can even eat it,” Guerra added.

Besides snow, the company has a line of products. One of which is “Flogos”, which creates clouds in the shapes of logos.

Their latest product is the “Amazing Snowman”. It’s a snowman that blows handfuls of evaporative snow through his mittened hands and up into the surrounding air.

You can actually help get it on the shelf at Wal-Mart, by going onto www.getontheshelf.com and voting for the Amazing Snowman.

The first round of online voting goes through April 3rd.

SnowMasters Australia

SnowMasters Australia

Sydney, Australia — Almost unbelievably, over a decade ago Dean Sunshine, a native Aussie, came to The States to start a branch of Global Special Effects in Australia.  Ten years ago, that Australian branch became our first office outside the United States.  Our 15,000 square foot Australian facility houses our complete range of SnowMasters Special Effects snow equipment and provides service to all of Australia and New Zealand.  We would like to take a moment to congratulate the amazing Dean Sunshine and the rest of SnowMasters Australia on a great decade of snow business, and we look forward to working with them on into the future.  Here’s to the next ten years!

GSE in Full Effect Last Night @ The Grammys!

deadmau5's 2012 Grammy Performance

deadmau5's 2012 Grammy Performance

Last night at The Grammy Awards, Global Special Effects products were literally everywhere!  We used a total of ten, count them, ten Eco-Scent ES-1100 Scent Machines to fill the auditorium with pleasant aromas.  In addition to the CO2 jets seen in Nicki Minaj‘s “Roman Holiday” performance (which we won’t mention, because some of us found it a bit “out there” to say the least),  our FogMasters Cryo-Jets were also seen in the awesome techno-hip-hop dance collaboration by David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil’ Wayne, The Foo Fighters, and the amazing, one and only deadmau5 (pictured).  See below for Cryo-Jet pictures and related articles.
